The End of Breastfeeding

Unknown
I am a 192 days / 6 months, 1 week & 5 days old baby

I don't know if I should be unhappy or happy. The decision has been made by the pediatrician, Bu Nuke (Dr. Nugrahanti of RSIA Melati Husada Malang) that mom is pregnant again.

The good news is I'll have a younger brother / sister in the near future which is a great news. I'll not be alone again among the grown-ups people.

The sad news is I will no longer be a breastfed baby again.

Ideally, as mom said, I should be breastfed until I reach 2 years of age if my younger sibling were not come too early.

Now, there's no other choice. I should give up breastfeeding. I should sacrifice my comfort zone for the sake of my younger brother/sister well-being. Otherwise, his/her health will be in jeopardy.

Day one drinking infant formula

So, here I am, a six month baby who gives up his breasfeeding luxury and have to move to another lifestyle of eating: drinking infant formula.

Is it good or bad? It's not about good or bad. It's about sacrificing one's convenience for the sake of other who need more.

According to Wikipedia, however, infant formula is okay:

"A 2001 WHO report finds that infant formula prepared in accord with applicable Codex Alimentarius standards is a nutritionally adequate and safe complementary food and a suitable breast milk substitute. Nonetheless, with few exceptions the WHO report recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of life."

Well, I have passed the six month milestone. So, I think it's ok for me to change my lifestyle, don't you think?
